COACHING TESTIMONIALS
A one hour session with Matt proved to be immensely helpful - I left with an effective mindset and practical approach to expanding my career in music. Matt emphasizes dreaming big, along with defining very specific, actionable steps and taking rapid action on those steps. For me, Matt helped me get out of my mindset of staying at home and focusing on "getting better" at music in isolation, and instead to get out into the scene in LA and to meet others and collaborate. In my opinion, Matt's approach to a career in music (and life in general) strikes a unique and distinct balance of a pragmatic, business approach, along with an emphasis of spirituality and visualizing the life you want, and also on giving up the ego and being of service. Years of trying to "figure it out" in a silo yielded marginal results, and meeting with Matt opened my mind and awareness to an effective and pragmatic approach and mindset to a career in music. I highly recommend Matt's career counseling service - whether you're pursuing music or another field, the principles Matt teaches can be applied to any pursuit in life. - Kevin E (Los Angeles, CA)
Since graduating college 5 years ago, I was just bouncing around from one opportunity or idea to the next, but I was never really getting anywhere. Matt helped me to define and focus on my true goals, and make better decisions towards those goals. He's helped me to see opportunities that I had a hard time seeing myself, at first. He showed me how to create better daily habits. He has also advised me on how to best approach business opportunities. Since working with him, my career has made a total 180. - Katie F (Houston, TX)

Call Matt. You won't regret it. - J.J. (Los Angeles, CA)
From the beginning, Matt listened carefully to the questions I had about accelerating my career. From there he helped me to clarify what I truly wanted and how to approach getting it. WORKSHOP TESTIMONIALS
Matt's clinic is hands-on to keep the kids interested and engaged. He asks thought provoking questions and has everyone share their thoughts and dreams. Matt's method and message was so powerful that after the session, one of the high school students said "I never really thought about my future goals and now I am". Several parents called to tell us that their kids raved about the clinic, and how much they enjoyed it and learned from it. The kids shared the same enthusiasm with us. Matt didn't come to promote himself. He came to promote music and confidence and to give kids that love music some inspiration for having big goals and to live their dreams. I highly recommend having Matt come to your location to present his clinic. - Michele Patton (SOR owner San Antonio, TX)
Thank you for the awesome workshop at the School of Rock in Kirkwood MO. My son, Mitch said it was absolutely awesome! He was so inspired by your words at 9:00 he was making a plan on the dry erase board in his room. 24 hours later he is still talking about you and how motivated he feels. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to spend an evening with kids and share your love of music. Mitch says he hopes one day to play just like you! Thanks again!

You couldn't have asked for a better time for me to write about the Matt Starr experience that I had with his workshop. In the most recent months I have been putting the advice and words of wisdom that I have personally received from Mr. Starr to use in starting my band Minor Setback. As a young teenager there are a lot of things that I wish would fall in my lap but after hearing some of the things I was told about how to achieve my dreams I see that there is much work to be done. He gave me pointers on how to market myself and the confidence I need to get my music career going. The workshop gave me the experience of jamming with a great musician and gave me one on one contact that I will always cherish. Thank you to SOR for the chance to meet a great role model.- Andrew Hernandez Student School Of Rock Dallas, TX Matt was very warm and personable. During his workshop, he had the kids very quite, attentive and focused. We have a hard time doing that on a daily bases. He has a real gift, and the students must have really been interested in what he had to say. Excellent workshops, the feedback was positive from the attendees. Several students have plans to follow up with Matt as they work to put their own band together and record some songs. I will definitely have him back next year. - Bryan Schaefer (Owner/President School of Rock Calgary)
Matt's workshop was a blast for our students! He's got that "rock-star" factor and provided some very introspective and thought-provoking perspective to our students. He took the time to really dig into each and every student's ambitions and goals and our kids walked away with some great swag from his music gear sponsors. When our students performed with him, they had a lot of energy and their faces lit up with how much fun the performance was. We would love to do something similar again (maybe with a larger performance/workshop space). - Jason Barteck (GM School Of Rock Littleton, CO)
Matt Starr brought his Career Builder Workshop to School of Rock Seekonk and our kids absolutely loved it. Unlike other clinics and workshops we've held in the past, Matt took the time to discuss goals and aspirations with each student and gave them ideas to help turn those goals and aspirations into reality. By asking the right questions, Matt connected with our students on a personal level and left them with a clearer vision of what they want to do with the rest of their lives than they had before the workshop. His presentation was positive and inspirational, and I highly recommend it to any and all groups of aspiring musicians. - Shawn Garrity (Music Director School of Rock Seekonk, MA)
